This ice machine provides good circulation from the cold water tank and I haven't had any trouble with water leaks when disconnecting the hose from the pad (I think it's best to turn off the machine first). The compression feature works well. So, as compared with the competitor I'd say it does the job (pressure and icing) at a fraction of the price. BTW, our first unit cycled off the compression feature after about 5 mins. each time it was used. I reached out to Ortho Bracing who had Breg overnight a new unit (since my wife already had her knee surgery). They have been very responsive to emails and the new unit works great.
