Honestly, my favorite thing about this book is the story within the story, that of Ezra Ashford and the notes he leaves in the margins. Some of them are in code! Do you need to decode the text to get the gist? Not at all. If you like to decode ciphers for the specifics, you can do that! Moreover, it's a really fun example of a what a longer campaign might look like, how to weave little clues into individual assignments, how player choices can influence the direction of a campaign, and how to build reveals and assignments on top of each other while increasing the stakes. It's entertaining! It's educational! I had to do some extra work to get the information which means I increased my engagement with- and retention of- the material! It's differentiated (kinda)! As a former EFL teacher, I'm so impressed I'm almost mad about it. Can you guys make English as a Foreign Language textbooks?

As an English major, yes, I did stay up all night reading this cover to cover. Definitely worth it!
