A Must-Read!
The title sounds like the setup for a joke, but this is a wonderfully-researched, illuminating history not about pirates alone, but the Jewish experience in Europe and the western hemisphere in the late 15th through early 18th centuries.
I had no idea of the complexity and depth of the role played by Jews fleeing the Inquisition in the history of Jamaica and Brazil, and the intrigues among Spain, Portugal, Holland and England.
Anyone even mildly interested in the history if the Caribbean, and/or Jewish history before the USA came to be, will love this book!

This appears to be a well-written book. It is a Chanukah gift for my Rabbi. I read a little bit and it’s quite interesting. I hope he thinks the same as me.
