SF 1000D spider farm light

I have used the spider farm 1000D light for growing my flowers. I have found that it does get hot due to the ballast on top and I'm not a fan of. I did mildly burn my arm on the top of it once not again. I have noticed that the light spectrum on it is different than my other light that I have purchased. And I also think that the light is going out.
