These mag pouches are amazing. The retention is second to none and doesnt need any other sources. Its very nice and convenient having the small storage space in front. You can seriously never beat a double purpose pouch. 1 pouch, so many possibilities.

Retention, without any shock cord or flaps added, is sufficient to mount this upside down (Magpul PMag Gen 2 with 28 rnds) and drop from 10 ft without the mag falling out. Still allows for easy mag draws/fast reloads. Very slim and snag free. My new favorite mag pouch.
