Inspiration
I had a pair of Heidi Ott dolls dressed in the pilgrim outfits from this site, and soon after Thanksgiving this shoe pattern offer appeared in my email. I knew immediately that the pilgrims needed to become elves. The shoes were quick and simple to make and the doublet and waistcoat from the pilgrims were quite suitable for elves. I had a witch hat pattern from somewhere, which was useable with a few adjustments for their hats, and the skirt for the girl and a simpler version of the pilgrim pants, both from Christmas fabric, were simple enough, but I wouldn't have made any of it if the perfect shoes hadn't turned up that day. I also enjoyed reading the surprising history of this shoe style. I never knew what they were called before. By the way, in case anyone else wants to use this AG size pattern for the type of doll that I made them for, their feet are narrower and longer. I made the shoes slightly larger. Mentioning this so that nobody will assume they would fit Heidi Ott dolls as is. I'm sure they're perfect for AG,
