An Excellent Starting Place for History

I have just received my copies of Herodotus and Thucydides. It will be a while before I complete the reading of these two volumes obviously but the publishing, the introductory commentary, and particularly the inclusion of the numerous maps make these excellent volumes. Trying to read ancient history without maps accurate at the time of the action is like trying to complete a puzzle without a picture. These are excellent and plentiful.

I have long wanted this as a reference work in my library. I’ve along supported Hillsdale and listen to lots of their podcasts. I wanted to support them also by buying trusted works from them and I was not disappointed.
