If you're in the backcountry going hard, the plastic bindings will break and you'd have to replace the whole assembly. With these, the individual parts can be replaced. I've already stripped a screw but I haven't damaged anything else on these (yet). Cardiff on Fort Union rd was so helpful with letting me upgrade to these!
