Twilight MySol Half Buckle by Girasol

Beautiful weave but…

This was the third half buckle I’ve tried through TBYB, after the DidyKlick 4U and while currently testing an Oscha Cairis. I’ve been exploring half buckles because my usual full buckle SSC has started to feel bulky and uncomfortable as my baby grows and the weather warms up, especially during longer walks with our dog. I wore the Girasol Twilight Mysol on a 1+ hour walk today with my 6m old (about 15 lbs). Right away, I noticed the shoulder pads started to feel a bit diggy after only about 10 minutes of wear. The waistband also didn’t feel quite as comfortable (it’s pretty thick like my full buckle) or supportive as the Cairis waistband I’ve been testing. By the end of the walk my baby had sunk down a bit in the carrier, and interestingly he didn’t fall asleep in this one, whereas he nodded off toward the end of our walk in the Cairis yesterday, which felt like a good sign of comfort for both of us. I also found the material a bit too warm and thick for spring and summer. Even wearing just a thin t-shirt and lightweight sweatpants, I was pretty sweaty by the end of the walk. That said, there are definitely things I loved about this carrier. The weave and colors of the Twilight fabric are gorgeous, and the craftsmanship is beautiful. I also really appreciated the two-way waist buckle adjustment, which felt thoughtful and easy to customize. Out of the three half buckles I’ve tried so far — the DidyKlick 4U, this Mysol, and the Oscha Cairis — the Cairis has been my clear favorite. I actually ended up purchasing a brand new Cairis in a different colorway while participating in this TBYB.

Best of All The Worlds!

The Girasol half buckle or mei tai are the most versatile carrier! You can swap the waistbelt for a tie or buckle waist, and lower it in the panel to grow with your child. That makes it like 4 different carriers in one! Twilight was truly GORGEOUS, and soft. I got this through tbyb straight from the warehouse, and it truly needed no breaking in. I love wrap straps, but I actually found these padded ones super comfy in this style. This is one of those tbyb I think about often and sometimes regret passing on!!

We tried this in the TBYB program and I was shocked how quickly my baby settled into it. The weave is so soft and comfortable and I love the colors so much. The only reason I didn’t keep this one is because I’m sold on the wrap style of the wrapmysol, but it it was so nice to compare it to the mysol! The padding is so comfortable and I really like all the loops and adjustments.
