I followed the instructions and tried the sharpener twice on the same blade. It didn't sharpen the blade at all. In fact, it made the blade worse. Cutting multiple layers of tin foil with the blade works better. I'm returning them (I bought one for my niece, too, but I'm not going to give it to her.)
