Empower Seamless Cycling Shorts - Black

I really wanted to love these shorts because the fit and look are nice, but the quality just isn’t there. I bought two pairs of the black shorts and both of them ripped after minimal wear. For the price, I expected much better durability. Comfortable at first, but not worth it if they don’t last. Unfortunately, I won’t be repurchasing.

I really liked the length of these shorts — I’m not into very short styles, so the longer cycling-short fit was perfect for me. The fabric feels nice and the overall look is flattering. However, the main downside for me is the waistband. Although they’re advertised as high-waisted, the top keeps rolling down during workouts and even while standing/ walking, so I found myself constantly pulling them up. They also don’t provide much compression or support around the midsection, so they don’t give that firm, flat tummy hold that I personally prefer in high-waisted gym shorts. I’ve worn other high-waisted leggings and shorts (for example, a pair I have from ASOS) that stay in place and offer much better tummy support, so I know it’s possible. If these had stronger compression in the waistband or some internal structure to prevent rolling, they would easily be a 5/5 for me. Overall, great length and style, but the waistband support lets them down.

I had to return them as I didnt realise they were scrunch bum which i really dislike
