Great quality - A must have for fishing from the SUP

I have been very impressed with the build quality of this rod holder. It is a much sturdier material than I imagined it would be. The convenience of installing/uninstalling it makes it great for changing up the SUP depending on my mood. Before I bought this I tried fishing without a rod holder and finagled the pole with some bungees - it kinda worked - but for the price and functionality- this is a no brained for someone who wants to enjoy using their SUP to catch some fish. Pair this up with a small anchor and you are golden for good times out on the water!

Does not work for trolling

The build quality of the holder is good and it is extremely simple to install. However, the screw attachment to the board is not even close to secure enough to withstand a bite. The holder won't come off, but the fish (small striped bass in my case, not giants) will be able to pull it down and the hook will not be set. Would only buy if you are just looking for a place to stow a rod, though there are many cheaper solutions for that. My impression is most people would buy a rod holder because they are interested in trolling.

Overall, the item looks wonderful and should work just fine, but I'm in Michigan. So probably middle of May before I even use it.
