My parents and grandparents only used nutmeg as a spice for dessert toppings, like pumpkin pie. With heartfelt gratitude to Calabash, I learned nutmeg has many more uses and is a staple spice in my house added to soups, grain based meals and I experiment wherever I can. This is a must need spice in every cabinet!
