Gem Box® Inkberry holly

The plant arrived healthy and was well packaged, with attractive foliage and no signs of disease or damage. My disappointment was with the value for the price. I purchased the #2 (2-gallon) Proven Winners Gem Box Inkberry, expecting a plant that was more established in its container. When I removed it from the pot, the root system had very few roots at the bottom of the root ball, giving the impression that it may have been recently potted into a larger container rather than being a fully established 2-gallon plant. The shrub itself is healthy, and I’m hopeful it will do well in the landscape. However, for over $60 for a 2-gallon Proven Winners plant, I expected a more mature, fully rooted specimen. If the plant had been priced lower, or sold as a smaller container size, I would have been much more satisfied.
