I have tried just about every variety of flap discs that Benchmark offers. I find that the ceramic ones provide great performance and are long lasting. I have pretty much settled on this product for my flap disc needs.

Handier than a pocket on a shirt

I use these on a battery powered right angle drill. I find them handy on smaller items or areas where I don't want to use a four-inch angle grinder. I use them primarily on aluminum and find that regardless of the grit size the material removal is quite controllable. A little bit of abrasive lubricant is helpful. I actually find out that I like them even as they are wearing out. For me they are quite long lived. I have also used these on magnesium sheet, titanium, stainless steel and carbon steel.
