Personalised quilted dog mat / bed

I recently bought the Kohutt’s quilted dog mat for my sixteen-month-old border collie. She has immediately taken to it. I am equally happy, as the mat is of good quality, sturdy, comfortable and well made. I find that the large size has the right dimensions for a border collie, though I imagine it would accommodate a larger dog as well. In her enthusiasm my dog has given it her blessing by immediately chewing a small hole in it (nothing is 100% dog proof, I’m afraid, and “dogs will be dogs”). The quilted sewing pattern and design of the mat is such however that any small hole or tear will generally not spread but remain “localized” and is then easily patched up. Therefore, contrary to most other designs, a small hole in the fabric will not necessarily affect the strength or the usefulness of the mat as a whole - and happily my dog has since mended her ways. I particularly like that the mat is strong but lightweight, and therefore easily picked up and placed in any part of the house where I want my dog to settle and find her own comfortable little corner. Importantly, it fits nicely on the backseat of my vehicle, where it not only helps to protect that backseat but also provides a cozy spot that my dog is immediately familiar with and where she is then happy to lie down and stay (properly secured with a clip to a safety belt obviously). Once again, a well thought out, well designed and well-made product. If I’m giving it four out of five stars, it is only because it is (of course) not indestructible by a serious chewer. Having said that, I can certainly recommend this item if you are looking for a versatile, lightweight but durable mat for your dog! M. Peyra
