performs better than my old VPI 16. 5; small footprint, v. quiet. I use it as a pre-clean using enzyme cleaner, record wash before 2 passes on ultrasonic machine- makes a big difference in both newly released/ reissues and well as for older, used LPs.

Okki Nokki ONE DV & Rob Fritz

First I want to start with my experience with Rob, absolutely stellar in every sense of the word. I was researching potential vacuum based RCM options (I already own a HumminGuru NOVA and formally owned the VPI HW-17). After researching I decided the Okki Nokki ONE DV was the one I wanted to try, and so I sent a number of questions to Rob and he responded quickly to each question. The biggest issue was waiting for the next batch of units to arrive as nobody had them in stock. Anyway, Rob's price was also the best available which made the decision that much easier. Would have no hesitation to purchase from Rob at Audio Art Cable again. Now onto the Okki Nokki unit itself, Pros: It's VERY quiet for a vacuum based RCM, best in its league I'd say, very good vacuum, nice design on the wand to support 7/10/12" records by simply flicking the lever, spin speed is also good, some of the current vacuum based models on the market today spin the record too fast IMO, the ONE DV speed is similar to the VPI HW-17. Small size and light weight too. The new clamp setup with the label protector is a very nice touch too. Cons: The thin plastic platter tends to wobble (seems common issue with Okki Nokki units, even older ones), I might tackle this issue later, no markings on the control knob. . . Okki Nokki if you are listening, this is something easily fixed with some simple silk screening and I am sure your customers would appreciate it, I printed some labels and stuck them on. The goat hair brush tends to lose hairs, I ordered the 50um nylon brush and find it is much better. Overall I really like the ONE DV, but Okki Nokki could make some minor changes that would make it so much more enjoyable.
