Malmaison Encore

Three stars for Malmaison Encore.

I’d been saving up for this perfume as I loved the original Malmaison so much. I know that can’t be brought back. It’s a delicate & pretty fragrance & doesn’t seem to last for long. I’d prefer it if it was more spicy.

Mature fragrance

I was excited about this fragrance as I have been searching for a true carnation scent. It’s a fine perfume albeit too powdery for my taste. It’s refined and mature, and perhaps not as focused on carnation as I would prefer.

sadly not for me

as a huuuuge US based lover of Floris...it pains me to say that Malmaison Encore was not for me :( idk if its the clove, but I get a strong, fragrant, scented women's lotion vibe from this. its not a bad scent...just not for me. to my nose, it didn't feel unisex or masculine in any way. very mature, feminine and old school, with a sweet, vanilla dry down. its hard to describe but I just wasn't a fan of the heavy, somewhat chemical, warm lotion smell. with only two sprays, literally felt like I slathered on an Avon or Mary Kay body cream. like something you'd find in your grandmothers powder room. I think it would make a great gift for a mature, older woman. but not for a gentleman that likes, clean, fresh, citrusy, spicy, woody, florals.
