Great trousers pattern
It was the second time EVER making pants for myself so the learning curve was quite steep but I love challanges. The instructions are clear and well-written. For the most difficult part i.e. zipper insert (everone's fear), there are close-up images showing each step. It was a very helpful complement. I had to make some slight grading between two sizes to accomodate my morphology so I have well fitting and comfortable trousers. As usual, the finishing techniques are wonderful. The inside of the trousers is as neat as the outside. I made them in a very beautiful dark chocolat brown heavy twill and I m techniqally living in them this winter. I already have plans for spring and summer.

My favourite trouser pattern ever
I made these in Merchant and Mills 8oz sanded twill . I’d been eyeing up the pattern for ages and am so glad I’ve made them. The instructions are really clear and the binding for the fly makes it really neat. I love the deep pockets. I’m an experienced sewer and make all my clothes. I’m now about to make my second pair in Ventana cotton twill. Additionally I’ve recently purchased the boat neck tee and made two this week. Brilliant pattern. So thank you Hetty for such fab designs

Fantastic Pants Staple
After completing several versions of the Daphne trousers, I recently purchased the Worker Trouser pattern. This block works well on my body, and I love paying attention to the finer details of the inside of the Modern Sewing Co patterns. I am an intermediate sewist but remain dissatisfied with my fly finishes, so I purchased the workshop to step through the button fly. I created an extra headache for myself by crafting these in heavy vintage corduroy. I think I will unpick the button fly and replace it with a zip fly because the finish is quite bulky. I found the minor discrepancies between the written pattern instructions for the fly and the video tutorial a little confusing, which is my only reason for four stars versus 5. Overall, the video workshop is terrific, and I love the quiet, calm way the whole process is presented. As someone who tends to race through, it was a great exercise in mindful sewing. I plan to make my next version of this pattern in a more suitable/lighter fabric. I hacked these pants, so the top half is Worker, the bottom half is Daphne, and then self-drafted cargo pockets and flaps, as seen in the picture. Despite my disappointment with the button-fly finish, I always receive compliments when wearing these pants.
