Great short. I have a 34 waist and the medium was very tight. Sized up to large. The belt keeps the short perfectly in place however. My favorite part is that the short never slides down during a ride.

Best
These are the best MTB shorts out of perhaps a dozen I have tried. Kitsbow, Chromag, backcountry, and 7Mesh. The #1 criterion for shorts is whether they catch on the saddle. These never gave. It’s a function of both fit and fabric. The pockets are great, with the caveat that the side zip pockets should be higher like the 7Mesh Glidepath shorts. The waist/belt closure is superb. The price is crazy but these are indeed the best.

Way to deliver on the upgrade Velocio
These shorts are a remarkable upgrade on the previous version. Longtime Velocio road rider and have to say I was not impressed with the previous attempt at an MTB collection. Try soft pedal on a gravel rig...Pockets were (maybe the only) strong suit. Material was always lackluster for an expensive pair of trail shorts that did NOT hold up to even light tumbles or gentle abrasion. Belt loops fell off on old pairs several times - fabric just unraveled. Those shorts were terrified of the trail... Fast forward to this new short and Velocio is back in the game with durability and execution. Knocked it out of the park. These are FAR more durable, still have right on fit and patterning for pedaling and stretch for great movement, offer great coverage, continue to have excellent pockets (placement, size, and access), AND embrace the belt(!!!). I was tentative but am all in now. Favorite shorts to ride. Waited for a season to arrive at conclusion - rode em, washed em, crashed em, still going strong. How many terribly executed built in waist adjusters do we need to endure when a solid belt does the job? Answer = 0. Ride these. This belt-shorts combo is excellent. I binned the competition after wearing these. While others did some things right, these do them all right. Note - these are NOT featherweight shorts for XC adventures (rock the ultralight for that - same great fit and cut just lighter) - these are proper shorts for the rugged and rowdy which breathe and protect right on target for intended use. So tired of brands waffling between light weight, stretch, and durability often going deep on one at the expense of all others. For riding the Northeast US these are great balance of breathable and durable and work great for 3/4 seasons. Can run knee pads no problem. Pay attention to Velocio's excellent sizing assets/guides and buy the right size. 6'3" 215 lbs and the XXL is right on fit for room to move without excess fabric to catch on saddle or bike.
