Years ago, I broke three sharpshooter shovels removing shrubs on a single job. With this sharpshooter shovel, I never have to worry about breakage. I ordered this for a driveway gate installation in NC red clay that was close to buried electrical service lines, so hand digging was the only option. It easy cut through red clay with ease, and made getting through a layer of gravel a breeze. It's heavy, but once you get used to the throw, it slices dense soil like butter. I liked this shovel so much, I named it James in memory of a local gravedigger that dug over 10,000 graves by hand before he passed away. His favorite tool was a sharpshooter shovel, and he would have loved these.

This tool exceeded my expectations. The engineering of it's fit, form and function is unmatched. Thanks a bunch!
