インドの地方からムンバイ空港に到着してすぐ、このバッグに目が止まった。バッグの大きさと、生地の発色がとてもいい印象だ。インドで良く見かけるこの生地だが、ここまで発色の良い物は見た事がなかった。すぐに工場を探した。
数ヶ月後、届いたサンプル生地とこの画像を見比べて概ね、同じ物と確認し何を作ろうか考えていた。この生地だけでバッグを作ろうとするとどうしても「可愛く」なってしまう。だから工業的な印象に仕上げたかった。
試作品はハンドルを鉄で作った。見た目は良いが重く使いにくかったのでアルミニウムでハンドルを作る事にした。また持ち手の保護用に水道ホースを使うことにした。
