JUKI MO-654DEN Overlock Serger Machine

So quiet and a joy to use!

I've been using a Brother 1134DW for 13+ years and it has served me well. It was a great little workhorse but the motor finally died. With how much I use a serger, my husband decided it was time to upgrade and boy is it an upgrade! The Juki runs so smooth and quiet with just as much power as my old machine. It does seem like the Juki has a harder time cutting through several layers of upholstery fabric when making squared corners on totes which my Brother didn't have trouble with but it is easy enough to avoid. I've really enjoyed using my new Juki!

It took a long while for the machines too arrive because it came straight from juki and they took a week off over thanksgiving once It came threaded (no spools) so I could tie on new thread and start working straight away. The needles are a little hard to thread because of the blade protection piece but easier once that and the blade moved out of the way. It's fast and easy to use. It does not have a container to catch the scraps so I keep a small bin next to me.
