I traded in my Janome 9480 for this machine and as soon as I got it home I was happy with my decision. It is built like a tank and sews smoothly. Coming from the Janome 9480 - the user interface was very easy to master. I updated the firmware to version 2.0 - the instructions were pretty straight forward; this added new settings and added capability to use a new cording foot. The only cons would be that it is missing some of the very latest tech that other flagship machines have such as laser guidance and projection capabilities. You'll need to go with Brother or Bernina for that. Those weren't critical to me as I prioritized reliability and ease of use over them in making my decision. ADDING AN UPDATE: I had an issue with my machine (small defect on the screen) and World Weidner had the machine replaced within a week. One week - and I was sewing on a new machine. These flagship machines are a huge investment for most people, and I am SO GLAD I chose World Weidner as my dealer. Worth the trip. Huge showroom. Excellent service. Trained Technicians.
