Putting together this puzzle is a perfect activity for teaching observation skills and attitudes to three to eight year olds. Observation is the earliest scientific process skill that can be taught, absolutely essential for raising an alert child. Dancing Cats teaches shape, color and pattern discrimination. Pomegranate should send flyers to every pre- and primary school in the U.S. and Canada, and to the National Science Teachers Association. (BTW: Seventeen Cats is a fun puzzle, but not nearly as good for the youngest childfren as is Dancing Cats, which is one of the best early learning devices I’ve seen recently.)
