A boozy new world order!
Benetti isn't just a skilled writer; he also possesses a weird and entertaining imagination, which he uses to great effect. In Pints, They Rained Down, he shows us a world where there's nothing to drink save for alcohol. This renders the population sickly and dim, unable to perceive a vast and bizarre conspiracy perpetrated right before their bleary eyes and under their bulbous noses. The concept for this story made my guts churn, as I could clearly picture Benetti's descriptions. But it also made my mind rejoice in its clarity. I definitely recommend this alcohol-soaked dystopian tragedy.
