On warmer early season days, I often shoot in one of a few nice Norfolk tweed gilets that I have, but I don’t want to damage the pockets with heavy cartridges. I also don’t like cartridge belts since they’re a bit fiddly, and one looks like a Mexican bandit! Therefore, for a few years I’ve used a hand-me-down cartridge pouch, but it’s a bit old and hard, but this beautiful new one from Hicks & Hides is a gorgeous colour and the leather great quality, nice and soft and hopefully won’t scratch the back of my hand! Here’s to the early season partridges ……
