A valuable and natural progression from set A from
There are at least two perspectives you could take on this set. First-off would be the Copic Classic series of markers themselves. On the surface Copic may seem spendy compared to all of the Amazon value brands out there. But when you really look at what you're getting the Copic value proposition is superior. The sturdy construction, the quality and breadth of the ink palette, the easy availability and simplicity of the refills, and the system of spare and alternative nibs. These all combine to make it a no-brainer for the professional of active enthusiast artist. For these kinds of users the lower up-front sticker price of the bulk brands turns out to be a false economy in the long run. Secondly, I'd consider this set in the light of it being the second in sequence of three sets that define the whole palette available in the Copic Clasic line. From theis point of view it's really impressive how well thought out the sequencing of set A, B, and C is. Here with set B we find an expansion on the vibrant primaries and a nice block of earth tones but where it really shines is in the incredible expansion of the grays across a wide variety of values and warm-neutral-cool tones. At least half of the set (36+) markers are part of the exploration into monochrome. If you already have set A this will unlock a variety of shade and tonal possibilities that sits well atop the set A foundation. Spoiler alert: Once you assimilate this set into your creations get ready for a burst of jewel-tone and pastel goodness to come with the third and final Copic Classic set C!
