Excellent book, read it pretty quickly, and I usually reread stuff like this a few times. It tells the story of a German/Swiss man's journey through a variety of spiritual experiences and lifestyles before becoming a Christian and getting involved with the charismatic movement in Europe before finding St Sophrony and his monastery in Essex and entering the Church. For some readers, his becoming Orthodox is covered very quickly at the end, maybe a bit of a letdown; however, his description of St Sophrony celebrating the liturgy is alone, worth the cover price.

I haven't gotten that far into the book yet, but I find it very interesting. Especially because I had a similar story myself, passing through a phase of eastern religions and amazonian shamanism and coming back to Christ through a Messianic Christian couple in the mountains of Oaxaca, Mexico. Later on I slowly made my way back into the Orthodox church. The way Klaus tells the story is very fresh and vivid, as well as honest. It's good to get another perspective on how God works in our lives.
