I love the wall set but I would love the option for long straight walls like you did with your regular walls.

I’ve been playing TTRPG’s for most of my life and I’ve never encountered a product like Dirt Cheap Dungeons(DCD). Most of the tabletop materials I use in my games have been painstakingly created from foam and paint. It’s a cumbersome hobby that takes money, time, and space (three things I have a shortage of). I found DCD products and they have filled a niche for me that I didn’t know I could fill so easily. I own the Rogue, Troll, and Wizard Tower sets as well as a broad selection of their other smaller kits. I can easily say that these have transformed my game table. They are durable enough that my children (5&9) can play with them. My youngest loves to build with them and I don’t have to worry about them breaking like my homemade bits. Each piece looks amazing without any paint. I’m especially fond of the way the trees look. There are shadows and color differences that add more tone to the trees than I can add with my own paints. I’ve considered putting a wash on the castle walls but I don’t think it would improve anything. They already look great on the table. They are perfectly balanced and none of them fall over on their own. Multiple connectors keep the whole set up stable and rugged enough to be played with by anyone. When drinks are spilled I don’t have to worry about what will happen to my pieces. I know they are fine. The quantity of pieces is just right. With the medium sets I can cover my table (3’x4’) with amazing builds. The pieces go together easily and I have enough connectors that I haven’t run out yet. What I didn’t expect was how much I’d enjoy building with them. I can spend an evening just planning out my dungeon and building the pieces and it’s reminiscent of playing with legos or building models. Finding different ways to use the pieces is awesome. Clever wall pieces from DCD include ‘broken’ walls and cavern spaces with windows allowing you to give players multiple entrances to rooms. I like to put book cases in front of the holes so my players have to push over the bookshelf, making a loud noise, but circumventing the locks. The wide breadth of products creates a collectible item as well. I can’t wait to complete my set with their Owlbear terrain. Even then I know I won’t be finished as I can tell that I’ll want more pieces to create an epic castle battle. The ability to purchase individual parts for pennies is awesome. Want more of a specific wall piece? No problem. Did you lose some connectors? Just order a few more online. Nothing is perfect and there are some things that I’ve noticed that are a minor nuisance. Sometimes pieces have a rough bur that needs to be removed. It’s easily solved with a knife and most pieces don’t have any. The other thing is that once it's built, it is almost impossible to move without falling apart. My game time is short, ~2 hours, and I’ve had to pick up the table 3 times before we are done with the adventure. Know that if you are planning a big game, you’ll need to leave it set up or take lots of pictures. So far, it has been do-able but kind of a pain in the neck. In the end, this product is amazing. It’s like nothing I’ve seen anywhere else and a terrific value. My wife says that it’s not quite ‘dirt cheap’ as I’ve spent hundreds already. The value of what I’ve purchased is worth much more though. My players were floored when they walked into a table covered in pieces. I’m giving them a gaming experience they can’t get anywhere else and that’s priceless. Dirt Cheap Dungeons is an amazing product and I’d recommend it to anyone that wants to provide the best gaming experience possible. --Richard M. (DM for 20+ years)
