Is it a knife? NO, that's a knife !! Blade was protected from air exposure, minimising potential rust if any. Grip is good and the leather makes it even more tighter in hand, no fear of slipping or twisting when handling, thus extra safe for a blade that size. All put back and wrapped in oil soaked kitchen towel sheet, and one more bound of shrink wrap to insure perfect preservation in scabbard. I have few Excalibur sword replica and they don't mix well with leather scabbard, rust start to take is toll. But not with this one ! A great purchase, a great price, a great execution, an awesome knife!
