Beautiful case, but within a week looks absolutely manky (all corners and sides have darkened and makes it look awful)

Really beautiful case, protects my phone well as person who drops it often. However, the packaging was just the case (not in a box or anything) in a mailer. I understand the need to create less waste, but I would like to know that my case was at least some what protected during the rough mailing process.
