This enclosure is much too nice to be called a cage! It's so big and roomy. I put bedding 10 inches deep in 65% of the cage; there's still be plenty of room for her 12 inch wheel and all her toys and water dishes. I had no trouble putting it together even though it's bulky and the pieces are heavy. I was concerned about the way the pieces fit together, that the enclosure might fit loosely together but once I got all the pieces put together, it is solid. I was concerned too about the ventilation because the lid is narrow and the slats don't seem big enough but as I was putting it together I realized that the whole thing is designed to breath. I kept it closed for 24 hours to see if it would be stuffy inside: not a bit. I was concerned that lifting the oblique lid would cause a breeze that would send toilet paper tubes flying; but I have to open the lid especially fast to create a breeze: opening it normally caused no disturbance. Hamletta is a Russian dwarf, a species known to develop cage aggression, but the cage is so big she runs over to greet me (who am I kidding, she runs over to get her treat because her mommy is sucker for hamsters!).

I like how easy it is to put together and also the roomyness. It gives you extra materials incase some get lost.

When this arrived everyone thought it was too big. But when we put our dwarf hamster in it, he just loves it. At night he zooms around the cage like a furry F1 car using every inch of the cage. He seems so happy and healthy that we’re glad this cage is this size.
