Hoping problem can be fixed

I ordered a beautiful cane for my dad and as soon as he opened it, he loved it. But he found a weird "peeling" spot. He actually called a place in Texas, explained the problem and he was told the cane probably wasn't dried completely before finishing it. I sent an email but didn't hear back yet. I'm hoping it can be replaced.
