Jakob Winter Greenline Oblong Violin Case

Slightly disappointed with the case

Does not fit electric violins well, very snug and tight for the Aurora five string electric violin and the Yamaha yev despite removing the end foam piece. Very light and very fun. However, it does not feel like a secure case for traveling. No space for a shoulder rest unfortunately. Does not feel protective, the right side clasp also does not align immediately when you close the case so you need to jiggle it a bit before securely clasping it together.

I purchased this case because I have an inherited. Violin and it’s with the original case. So probably more than 80 years old. I also have chemical sensitivities so trying to order other cases didn’t work out because if all the offgassing. I happened to run into someone who told me about the Greenline being toxin free and was intrigued. I found one at a local shop to look at and was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t smell!! So I ordered the oblong case with pouch and absolutely love it. It’s super light, has almost no smell at all and my violin looks good and fits well in the case. I do with there was a lock on it just to make sure if I bump the latch it wouldn’t open but it should be fine all the same.
