the intersection of Comfort, Warmth, Function Value and Fashion
The MXZ304 winter-specific cycling shoes are just what I needed for my winter riding in Ohio. The boot shape is great with no pinch points and traps warm air in. So far, the boots have performed great down to 30-degree temperatures paired with wool socks, and I expect they could handle even lower temperatures with double socks or toe warmers.
The BOA® Fit System M4 dial allows for a perfect, easy adjustment that encloses the top of the boot to keep moisture out and warmth in without over tightening. Additionally, the click-and-snap velcro strap across the ankle keeps my foot perfectly positioned throughout the ride, ensuring all power goes directly into the pedals. The price can't be beat either. I recommend sizing up to allow room for additional socks.

Perfect winter boots
This is the 3rd pair of Lake winter boots I have owned. Can't say enough good things about them. They're consistently of the highest quality and always stay warm during the coldest Chicago winters. Also are robust enough to make it through the snow/salt mix of Chicago streets for several years.
