Awesome light, just wish it had more flexibility as well as another magnet elsewhere
I received my light Friday and by Saturday was using it on my two gas pumps I am trying to restore. The magnetic base is really strong, also I love the fact that this now accepts a USB C, about time. The magnetic base is a little gimmicky, it works great and I also love the fact it too has a strong magnetic base as well as screw holes on the back side for hanging. My biggest gripe about the base though is that this base is designed only for this one flashlight (if you are wanting to charge it without taking the battery out). Milwaukee, if you are reading this, I'd like to say good job on the charging base, works great and easy. Going forward though I would really like to see a style of charging base that can be used with all future Red Lithium lights. Yes this would involve having the same charge area shape the same. Also thank you for finally upgrading to USB-C. This flashlight has two brightness modes, high and low, the different lights and directions on there are great and do give some shine. Over this past weekend though it really showed me where the downfalls are on this, such as the light head pivots up and down but not left to right. Most of the time the head pivoting up and down will be able to get you what you need to get but every so often you will need the added luxury of having the head pivot as well to light something correctly. My other complaint about this is the lack of another strong magnet. There were many times this past weekend where I wanted to get the light to shine under a surface lip but the only strong magnet is on the base, and with the pivot point being the furthest away from the base means that you won't be able to do such a task. Now I say strong magnet as it has another magnet on it but it is meant for charging and isn't strong enough to hold this upright. I own almost every Milwaukee M12, M18, and Red Lithium light out there, and the Milwaukee under body (not hood) light has become one of my all time favorites. Not only is that one bright but it has several magnetic bases as well as pivoting points. I absolutely love that light, but for jobs where I'm in a more confined area, well that one is just too big. For now this Red Lithium pivoting light will be my main go-to for confined jobs but I hope maybe their next light will be better, such as a gooseneck light (and no I don't care to try the neck style one) with a couple magnetic bases.
