M-LOK Rail Mount needs some redesign
I purchased several of the ALG-16 M-LOK Rail Mounts to use in conjunction with the Fenix tactical flashlights, remote pressure switches and pressure switch mounts. The M-LOK rail mount for the flashlight is the weak point of the system. Where the mount contacts the rifle handguard, there is a gap on each side which causes the mount to wobble. I added a small piece of padding on each side to fill the gaps, but not ideal, as the mount should fit flush against the handguard. Also, the “tool free” mounting sounds great, but the locking mechanisms slide horizontally outward rather than rotating perpendicularly - this means that both locking pieces of the mount must be in the same slot of the rifle’s handguard. If the locking mechanisms rotated perpendicularly (as most other M-LOK mounts do) it would allow greater mounting options as the mount could lock into two different slots. Primarily an issue when used on rifles with shorter handguards. The flashlight can be slid forward or back in the mount which probably is an adequate fix for most users. If Fenix would tweak the M-LOK design, it would be a perfect rifle mounted light system.
