Learning The Gospel With Older Saints

I'm using Learn the Gospel with a small group that's comprised of older saints. We use the book and watch the accompanying videos, which are projected onto a wall (for a large size image). We use the subtitles as well, which are auto-generated and not always accurate. The videos are well produced and it's great to have them accompanying the text in the book - brings these parts alive. The group are appreciating the logical structure of Two Ways To Live and are engaging well with each chapter. The book is well set out and the variety of Scripture, discussion, and explanation goes well with the video input. We meet for 1 1/2 hours and find it takes the whole session to get through a chapter, without leaving much time for prayer and without getting too bogged down in discussion. The older folk are finding the memorisation tends to be beyond them, so I'm encouraging them to get the framework fixed and not be discouraged if they can't remember all the words. I'm testing Learn the Gospel with this small group with a view to using it across the congregation. So far, the feedback has been that it's been a good use of time even though it's unlikely that the members will be able to reproduce Two Ways to Live for themselves. Excellent resource

This resource is transforming us by helping us dwell on the gospel. The reason for the missing star: our small group has found the chapter numbers confusing (they don't match the two ways to live numbers). A possible fix for this would be to clarify the chapter titles something like this: 2. Creation - Two ways to live point 1.

We have used this tool in a new study group for new and young in faith Christians. A book you can scribble in and online video options to break up the delivery make presentation easy and accessible. Great and insightful teaching that can lay a sure foundation for Christian Faith and also provide a tool for sharing the heart of Christian Faith.
