Unexpected Accuracy
I like this one primarily because of its weight and because it's solar. I mostly have solar quartz watches, so I'm familiar with their accuracy. I cannot abide an inaccurate timepiece, so I tend to reset my quartz watches every week or so. This one, however, has been accurate to about a second per month, which is much better than any other quartz watches I have (except a G-Shock, but it has radio update). It's nearly at the level of a high-accuracy quartz, which are typically much more expensive. It may just be luck; the last time I set the time on this watch was nearly 3 months ago and it's within half a second. The only con: the lume isn't great. It's functional, and I like that it's blue instead of the typical green, but tends not to last through the night.

Service is great. The watch: Beautiful design, but when I first set the time, the seconds hand tics two seconds at a time. Defect, or low battery?

Clean design but QC needs a little more attention
Update: After 2 weeks with the watch the time keeping aspect has improved and is now only slow by 1 second since my initial setting up. I had also adjusted my Citizen at the same time so both were in sync. The Citizens is now 3 seconds fast so the Big Idea Design watch is proving to be more accurate. I would gladly update this to a 5 star review but still without the leather strap that was supposed to be included and instead getting 2 nylon straps I'm only changing it from a 3 to a 4 star review. I also want to note the glow doesn't stay bright enough for an entire night to be able to read the watch face but that may be due to it being blue where other watches I have are a green glow which is far brighter. If I would change anything about my order it would have been to get this watch with the green glow and hopefully it would have also came with the leather strap. Original review: I'm a big fan of Big Idea Design and have many of their products. So needless to say I had to go for their watch. I've been sporting a Citizen Eco Drive for a few years now and I absolutely love the no need to worry solar powered watch. This Big I watch has a few features that I wanted in an upgrade such as a full second hand on the face and not the second hand in a smaller segment of the face, and I also wanted a bevel to use as a timer function instead of a chronograph. This watch delivers on all of that. What I didn't get was a leather strap as advertised, instead I ended up with two identical nylon straps. Then comes my biggest problem which is accuracy. My Citizen gains normally 2 seconds per month and comes in at a lower cost. The Big Idea Design field watch has lost 2 seconds in just 6 days of wearing meaning that accuracy is much further off than my other watch. I do love how light weight the watch is but if your going up against a watch brand that's been doing the solar powered action for decades and charge more then you need to come out swinging. I feel like the design, fit and finish, and materials used are absolutely on point but when it comes down to the main reason for owning a watch, and this one being far less accurate with a bigger price tag, then this watch missed the mark. Not sure if I'll be able to update this review after a couple of months of daily use but if I can then I most certainly will as needed.
