light years ahead of old school short-handled scoops
CKG SAND SCOOP FOR BEACH: It's my 2nd one. I bought it as a backup & for use by friends who I want to introduce to the hobby. Super-solid construction, yet not heavy. I've kept my first one rust free by rinsing it (& the detector coil) thoroughly. Fortunately for me, my go-to beach has outdoor showers in the parking lot to do the rinse offs.

My wife’s Birthday Scoop
The scoop appears to be well made. Unfortunately we live in Michigan and will have to wait for warmer weather to try the scoop. Thank you for making it possible to make her day. She’s a rock picker from way back.
