I just got the pack today, and already love it. Loaded it with about 35 lbs and got it adjusted to my back. Feels nicely dialed in. Great features on this R3! The load shelf can be accessed a lot quicker than my Sky Talus. I installed the R3 Tac Weapon Sling, as well. It functions just like the standard SG QR Sling, but a slightly different design specific to the R3 frame. Really love the big stretchy side pockets. I have an entire rain suit in one, and in the other I have a 32 oz Nalgene. I am certain I could carry other things in them like my MSR Windburner stove or my Leupold GR 12-40 x 60 spotter. I wish other packs in SG’s hunting line-up had these stretch pockets…very functional. Top shelf construction and attention to detail is evident throughout. I’m going to figure out a good way to attach a couple MC bottle and GP pouches I have to the belt. Also will rig some internal organization with SG pockets and others. Really happy with this new pack and looking forward to training with it for elk next fall, and also use it during some of my mil contract work.
