My Goldilocks Purse
I first purchased a Lancaster crossbody second hand, because I'm a very cautious person. I have been burned so many times, wasting my money on even designer handbags that left me disappointed. A bag isn't just for carrying things inside, it's one of the first things people see when you walk up. I can get overwhelmed very quickly with too many pockets, visible zippers, logos or fussiness. I was so happy with my first secondhand bag, because though it was a little too slouchy for me at first, it held every single item that I need it to, I can close the flap, it doesn't get caught on my sweaters, I can find any item in it immediately, and I can close any transaction super quickly because of the card slots. I wish it were pink, my favorite color, but that's the only thing I can find against it. So, when I had a little money at one time for myself, I quickly purchased myself a brand new Lancaster (in another color from the first) and I really don't know that I'll ever need to buy another purse. But if I do, I'll be back for another Lancaster in yet another color! I mentioned about being able to find things.. Since I've become a mother, I haven't been able to go back to carrying shoulder bags, because they fall off or get in the way when I'm strapping my child into her car seat. I've always liked crossbody bags, so I've just put away the arm/shoulder/hand bags in order to only use crossbody. But not all of them were suitable for Mama bags! I probably sound crazy, but one day I had went back to using a lovely shoulder/hand bag I'd been given for Christmas and I lost my keys in it. I literally lost my keys, twice in so many days. I thought I had locked my keys in the car!!! That never happens with a Lancaster bag, because you can reach everything immediately. I've tried Patricia Nash bags (they ripped my sweaters in the back), and Brighton bags (lovely, but the ones I have aren't quite as usable), and old school Wilson's Leather bags - none were so easily accessible and just "there for you" like a silent butler, handing you exactly the item you need in that moment. I haven't named my Lancaster bags, but they both stay within reach, always ready when I need them. No, you're not likely to find one in TJ Maxx, but you can buy other things there and save enough to buy one of these from a truly great company. I don't like the brass ring on the regular 5 pocket bag, it overwhelms my sensibilities, but the Lancaster is my bestie bag.
