One of the most useful cooking tools you never knew you would enjoy using
We are long time fans of Sea Island Forge. We LOVE our kettle, and use it often for open fire cooking. To be sure, it is a learning experience, but now my preferred cooking "go to" method for routine cooking (I do my slow cooking on a traditional firebox cooker--although I have slow cooked pork butts, ribs and chicken on the kettle as well.
Meanwhile: we like to cook paella when we have guests. It takes some time and effort, but the results are well worth it. The paella tool makes it a lot easier, especially when doing some "crispy rice scraping" (intentional, not burned) off the paella pan. And our guests a couple of weeks ago--all 30+ of them--loved the results.
And I have also found that it is a very useful tool for more routine cooking, such as burgers for the family. It is actually preferable to a spatula in my experience.
By the way, using all the tools is fun: they are very well made, and are going to be heirlooms for our family--they are that unique and useful.
