Prima Aurora DidyKlick Half Buckle by Didymos

Beautiful but not for me

This was the first half-buckle carrier I ever tried and also my first experience with a Didymos product. I was curious about half buckles because my usual full-buckle SSC has started to feel less comfortable as my baby grows and the weather warms up, especially on our longer walks outside with the dog. The adjustability and wrap-style straps really appealed to me, particularly because my baby loved being in the Solly wrap when he was a newborn. The Prima Aurora colorway is beautiful — soft, neutral, and easy to pair with just about anything. The fabric quality is clearly excellent, and the carrier itself feels very well made. That said, I did struggle a bit with some of the features. I was a little intimidated by the wide wrap-style shoulder straps, which are quite long, and during my first attempt I almost tripped on them while getting everything set up. I tried the carrier twice, but my 6m old didn’t have much patience for the process. He kept popping his seat while I was adjusting the straps, and I found myself getting overheated while fiddling with the long fabric. I also realized I’m not a big fan of the Velcro adjustments on the waistband, and I didn’t love the non-toggle strings used for adjusting the seat. For me personally, those details made the carrier feel a little less intuitive to adjust. In the end, I passed this one along fairly quickly. I think I may prefer a half buckle with padded, thinner shoulder straps — something like the Oscha Cairis or Girasol Mysol — that might feel a bit more straightforward for me while still offering the comfort and adjustability of a half buckle.

We tried this one through the TBYB and it was sooo comfy, like a soft hoodie. The wrap length was a little intimidating as I’m new to wrapping (and thankful this was a half-buckle), but I liked how easy it was to learn. We ended up passing it along because I wanted to compare it to other half-buckles but I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes the ease of buckle with the look of wrapping.
