This rug exceeded my expectations. It shipped quickly and it's very high quality. The "new" smell wears off in a day or two and wasn't that disruptive anyways. I haven't noticed any shedding, but also don't spend a lot of time on the floor. Now that we've had it for about a year, we will be purchasing another for a different room in our house. Excellent selection of oriental and other designs that fit in with the style of our old home.
