I’m from Kentucky and am generally familiar with the bourbon area having gone to school at the university of Kentucky in Lexington 25 years ago. Twenty five years ago you had to blaze your own bourbon trail. I now live in Nashville and have heard the “bourbon trail” has really developed into something worth visiting. I hoped this book would educate me about places I didn’t know about. But it’s really just a scattergun shot of various aspects of Kentucky, many of which can’t be visited in the same weekend, with a brief summary of some of the distilleries. It really doesn’t map out any hypothetical trips or give any Guidance on how best to experience this neat part of the South. I thought this was a guide book. It’s more like the Kentucky Cliff Notes.
I’m disappointed for sure.
