Light Brown - Alpaca/Tussah Silk Fiber Top Blend

This is my first time with alpaca and I spun from the fold on my spindles and plied on the spinning wheel. Im not sure if its my skill level or maybe the type of silk, but the finished yarn isnt soft. I was hoping for the soft, lofty, and shiny kind of yarn I got from the Gems of Paradise line, but this is scratchy/ not soft. Maybe in the future i will try to blend it with more alpaca?

Spins like a dream

The alpaca and silk roving is so beautiful and smooth spinning i don't want to stop. It picks up the dye with intense color. Amazing fiber and soft texture.
