Organic Genmaicha

A Smooth, Light, Naturally "Sweet" Green Tea

When I first tried this tea at a hibachi restaurant, I fell in love with it. The roasted brown rice fills out the flavor profile wonderfully and even adds what I feel like is a gentle sweetening effect through the nuttiness. This genmaicha tea from Full Leaf Tea Co was everything I hoped it would be. I am grateful to know where to get high-quality genmaicha tea when my cravings strike!

It tasted ricey like I had hoped. Very balanced & necessarily good!

More toasty rice please!

Genmaicha has always been my favorite green tea, but I like a stronger toasty rice flavor than I'm getting from this one. Will try brewing it with more in the infuser, as brewing longer would make the tea bitter. Unfortunately, I assumed I'd enjoy this more and ordered a larger bag. May try adding some toasted rice to it if I can find some without salt/sugar added. In this tea's defense, I'm realizing the green tea just isn't my favorite and that I usually find it a bit too bitter, even when not over-steeped. Did follow brewing instructions on temp / length of brew.
