Best/most beautiful loafer

This is my second review of these shoes - my first pair in the brown hickory I purchased in an 8.5 and they were a touch too large (normal size) so I exchanged for an 8 - they fit well, but are taking quite some time to break in (several weeks) and cut into my ankles. Bandaids help, but it is still ongoing. This did not deter me from purchasing a second pair - the black croc. Which are incredibly gorgeous - 10/10 recommend with the crescent add on - such a statement shoe. Now when I tried them on in the size 8 - it was a totally different experience - they fit perfectly out of the box and they don’t seem to have a break in period and do not hit in the same spot on my ankles. A few notes: this pair didn’t come with the shoe horn, nor did it have the protective covering on the sole (these are non issues as they clearly weren’t worn and I have a shoe horn from the other pair - but it just seemed unusual). They certainly elevate my style and I now understand why some reviews exclaim about the comfort out of the box. I suspect that there is the variation due to materials used and I believe they are handmade…. I absolutely love the black croc and would recommend. I wish both pairs were equally and comfortable and I hope the hickory crocs ‘break in’ soon!

Beautiful shoe

I’ve been looking at these for months and trying different loafers at a more affordable price point - but I finally pulled the trigger. They are so beautiful. I originally purchased 8.5 (my normal size) and they were too large. I exchanged for a size 8 which fit well. I have been trying to break in with socks that I would wear with running shoes - but they do seem to have an extended break in period. Similarly to other reviews, they dig in just under my ankles. This is solved with bandaids. I hope they break in soon (going on 3 weeks) - just ordered a second pair in black croc because the hickory croc is so beautiful!

Lovely loafer

Originally purchased in the brown croc in a 8.5/39 but exchanged for the espresso spazz in a 9/39.5. The croc was beautiful but a little lighter than I expected and I felt like I didn’t notice the lovely heel shape as much with the lighter heel, and the overall look was much more casual. The espresso spazz is beautiful rich dark brown, very refined look and easy to dress up or down. I am typically an 8-8.5 or 39-40 but do not have any other shoes labeled as a US 9 so I would go off the euro sizes as best estimate. I probably would have had enough length in the 39 however I do have very wide & high volume/high instep feet. While I find these mostly very true to size I could see how someone with a very narrow or low volume foot might find they run slightly big so ymmv. In correct size these are confidentially most comfortable loafers I’ve ever had—fit like a perfect glove and no pinching in the toe which is almost unheard of for me. No break-in needed. I suspect the few folks complaining of a long break in are wearing a size or half size too small.
